We’re taking a break from the homestead today, and going to the “big” city!
No, I’m not really a city person, but I will go when I feel it is necessary.
My children love animals. The zoo has lots of animals. The zoo is also in the city. So… we decided to get a pass to the zoo this year, so that our children can enjoy God’s creation in the animals that we don’t see every day or in our area of the world.
Zoo day was a beautiful day! It wasn’t too hot; the sky was partly cloudy, so we didn’t bake in the warm sun; and we went with our wonderful extended family. Our kids loved spending the day with some of their cousins, aunt, uncles, grandma, and great-grandparents!
They got an up close and personal look at the snoozing snow leopard:
By the time lunch time rolled around, we were all ready to eat. So much so, that I forgot to take pictures! We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on homemade bread, cheese and apple cubes, celery, carrots, and rice cakes. However, we couldn’t leave the food court area until they had the opportunity to play in the new sand area!
All of the kids had a great time at the end of the day, and can’t wait to go back!
What do you take advantage of in the city?
